Will I ever not feel sore...

I had a good sleep last night. The CPAP was on, which made a big difference. That said, I still didn't feel 100%. I still had the after-effects from Friday night.

I wanted to run early this Sunday for my long run, but I couldn't. My legs were so stiff, and I needed time to just walk around and try to get loosened up. Rather than run early, we went out for breakfast. I had a vegetable omelet and beef vegetable soup.

When I got home, it was warm, and there were no clouds in the sky, so I pushed myself out the door to do my one-hour and fifteen-minute run. I did a one-hour and thirteen-minute run on Thursday, and this would be my second one-hour-plus run in the same week.

I don't know why, but it takes me about three minutes to get into a grove. My chest seems tight, my heart rate is high, I'm stiff, and the beginning of the runs is very uncomfortable. I have never had that experience before, and it is somewhat concerning.

The run was through Bronte Park, mainly through trees and shady. It makes a big difference. It would have been a brutal run if I had to run without shade.

I enjoy running through Bronte Park; it's peaceful and scenic. There are areas where you run through a forest, others where you run on trails, and others where you run on gravel roads and through fields. The time goes by much faster.

After the run, I washed my car. I thought bending down would be like stretching. I can't say my legs were stiff, but I felt like an old man shuffling. Once the car was washed, we went to a couple of open houses. One house in the neighborhood had the same model plan as ours, and we wanted to see how it compared to ours. I hope they get the money they are asking for, as our house is nicer, which would be us getting more.

The work continued. We went to Rona and picked up some underpadding for the new area rug we bought. It required two trips because we couldn't transport the underpainting in the Corvette. Then, I had to help put the underpadding under the rug and move the furniture back in place. Now, I'm tired and just want to lie on the couch and relax.

My heart rate was back to normal today. The graph shows the effect of my partying. It goes straight up one day and straight back down the next day.

I regret partying on Friday. It set me back at least 1 pound. What I burned in training this weekend, I negated with what I ate and drank on Friday.

A positive is this week was my longest training week since starting my training 9 weeks ago. It was the longest training, and I managed to train for 9 straight weeks without fail. Training that length of time is a win. I'm in better shape and far from being in respectable shape, which is definite as being able to average a minimum of 29 kph on my bike rides and a maximum of 6 minutes per mile on my long runs. If I could do a 5 minute per kilometer pace then I'd be delighted, that's only an 8 minute mile.

Run -  1:17:17 / 10.05 km / 7:41 per km avg pace

Weekly total - 9 sessions - 10 hours 9 minutes - 133.43 km
