Small run break through...
Today is a big evening: the Trump vs. Harris debate. It's very important that I get all my training done beforehand. I'm very excited to see how it goes.
I started my morning with a 20-minute run. I was somewhat looking forward to it because it was only 20 minutes, but I was also curious about how fast I would run and how long it would take to settle into my stride with a low heart rate.
Surprisingly, I ran at a 6:40 per km pace. It's the first time in a long time I've been in the Sixes, and if I didn't know any better, by feel, it felt as fast as my previous runs. Needless to say, it was a pleasant surprise. I still had to walk a number of times, but the end result was semi-respectable.
My Sonr swimming music player arrived today. It was a replacement for the first one that didn't connect to my Mac. This one did connect, and I figured out how to transfer music, which I spent over two hours doing. I uploaded 600+ songs to it.The next big test is whether it works when I go swimming. It's a bone-induction music player that radiates the music through the back of your skull and not your ears. I'm a little reserved in my excitement about whether it will work.
A second test I had this afternoon was how my new Catlike bike helmet would feel on my bike ride. It took a while to play with the chin strap to get it right and not too tight. The good news is that it seemed to work fine. In fact, it keeps my sunglasses stable and does not move down my nose as I ride.
I couldn't test out the helmet and glasses in the aero position because one of my aero bars is broken, but so far, so good.
The aero bar breaking is a little concerning because to change gears, I need to reach the end of the extension bars where the gear levers are, and it's not stable. I'm hoping it won't be for long; my new Canyon bike is set for delivery tomorrow. I'm hoping the guy who builds the bike can fix it before he leaves for Ironman Michigan.
Overall, it was a winning day.
