I'm starting to feel like I'm off to a good start, after 9 weeks.
After waking up, I headed to the pool for my swim workout. I felt good and that I was becoming a stronger swimmer. As much as I dread going to the pool, once I get going, I get into it, and it's not so bad.
As much as I hoped to finish work early, I couldn't get out the door for my bike ride until 2:30 pm. It was supposed to be an easy ride, and I didn't push too hard, but again, it was hard to keep my heart rate down as low as I was supposed to, and the sweat kept pouring.
I was sweating a lot after my first ride on my new bike. On this ride, my bike looked like I spilled Gatorade on it, but it was my sweat spots. I will have to start wiping my bike down after every ride or at least cleaning it weekly. I've never been one of those guys who cleans his bike.
But now that I've spent so much money on the bike, I should spend the time cleaning it regularly. We'll see if I do.
I did notice a turning point this week. I'm feeling stronger, and I'm at the level of strength I thought I'd be when I started 9 weeks ago. It seems that it has taken me to the mid-ten weeks of this journey to feel I'm now at a respectable starting point.
After the training, I got on the road at 4 p.m. and drove down to Syracuse with the convertible's roof down. Let the road trip begin. Tomorrow is a rest day, and I'm looking forward to it and tomorrow's football game.
