The swim that couldn't...

Today was a scheduled swim. It would have been interesting to see if I could do it with my sore shoulder.

It didn't take long for me to realize that I couldn't do it after the first few strokes. However, I managed to do three sets of 50 in between three sets of 100 on the kickboard.

My kicking is horrible. On the first set, I thought I was standing in place as the wall moved by so slowly. It was pathetic how weak my kick was. Hence, perhaps why I swim slowly and my heart rate is always low when I swim. I don't kick.

I lasted about 20 minutes and got out of the pool. I tried, but I figured it would cause further damage to my shoulder.

My left calf is also a major issue; it's so sore, and I keep rolling it. I'm not sure how long it will take to heal. I was hoping the kicking on the board would help.

My calf problem is due to an imbalance of strength between my right and left leg. During my strength training session, I could not do as many reps on my left leg as on my right leg. Future sessions require the use of bands, so I ordered some from Amazon. It will be interesting to see how well they work. I've never used bands before.
