Not really a rest day...
I worked until 11:30 a.m. and then took the afternoon off to see sights, keeping me busy. There was lots of walking, and my legs did not get any rest. However, we did stop to pick up some Advil, which I took a couple of times throughout the day. Which caused me to retain water and my feet to swell.
The first place we went to was the house from the movie The Christmas Story. It was a one-hour tour involving walking and standing while listening to the tour guide.
The next stop was the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Again, I did more walking. As I was walking, my right hip was sore. It feels like my left and right legs feel completely different from each other; they don't feel in Sympatico.
I ended up buying a couple of shirts, and although I'm an extra large now, I bought these two shirts in large and am looking forward to fitting into them in a couple of months.
After walking, we drove around downtown Cleveland, then some neighborhoods, like Little Italy, and just relaxed. It's relaxing to drive around aimlessly and not know where you will see the city. I saw that Cleveland is a very nice, clean city with lots of green space and parks.
Before dinner, we stopped at Walmart. I needed to pick up an electric razor to get the hair off my legs. There is a lot of hair on my legs, and it's better to do it in a hotel bathroom than create a mess at home. I figured if I'm going to go back to acting like a triathlete, I may as well look like one with no hair on my legs.
Foodwise, I've been doing decent. It's not as controlled as it is at home, but considering we are going to restaurants, I've been ordering as close as possible to what I need. Lunch was a salad; dinner was a 6 oz steak, 4oz lobster, rice, and asparagus at Longhorns.
I brought my ketosis breath meter, and I continue to be in ketosis. I also brought my massage stick and use it before bed and when I wake up. It's amazing how the right calf feels perfect, and the left calf is tight and knotty.
By the end of the day, I was so tired that after dinner, I needed to nap when I returned to the hotel room. Tomorrow is a 50-minute run, and I hope my calf holds up.
