Keeping up the momentum...
As always, I wasn't looking forward to going swimming and waiting until 8 p.m. to leave the house. I mentally got myself motivated by telling myself it would be my first back-to-back swim, and it could only be good for me. My last swim was 2.1 km, and this swim was 2 km, so in 24 hours, I've now swam over 4 km.
I'm following the program as best I can. I did all the drills and even bilateral breathing. When it told me to go hard, I went hard to the best of my ability, and it was not fun and a little painful at times. I did lots of huffing and puffing when I was done with the set.
The strange thing is I feel really fast, yet I'm going so slow. I know this because I look at the swimmers in the other lanes, who you can tell are not real swimmers, and we are going at the same speed.
I know I'm losing weight. With a little effort, I can go down one loop on the belt. It's a little snug but very close to being natural. I'd say within a couple of weeks, I'll be down one loop, which is good considering I don't have any loops left. I would have had to get a new belt if I kept getting fatter.
As an update on my calf injury, today was the first day I didn't feel the discomfort in my calf. That's not to say it's good enough for me to walk on, but it's a great sign that not running on it and giving it some time to heal seems to be working. I'll probably hold off on running this week and try back next week. I've been debating if I should walk or do the elliptical instead or just stay off it and do the extra biking workouts.
Swim - 1:06:24 / 2011 meters / 3:18 per/km pace.
