Nothing like eating hockey pucks...

I'm a little disappointed on day 5 of my carnivore diet. I have not yet experienced any explosive diarrhea. I've been so looking forward to painting the toilet bowl.

Everyone I watched on YouTube talked about the 2 - 3 weeks of not just diarrhea but "explosive" diarrhea. For me, I've had little diarrhea, but not really much. And not nearly as much as when I was a little kid eating all my Halloween candy on the first day.

But perhaps, I just need to be patient.

The diet is working. I'm down around 2 lbs, and I don't feel hungry. In fact, yesterday was the first day I wasn't even thinking I wanted to eat.

Meat doesn't have the same gravitational pull to eat it as carbohydrates.

The key is to have some variety, so off to Costco.  Alice and I went. By the time I was done, my cart was filled up "textbook" carnivore diet plan, or what they also call the Lion diet, as you can see from the photo. I got some hamburger, chicken, brisket for smoking, coffee, and a big supersized package of toilet paper. On the bottom, it was mineral water to switch it up from just regular water. Basically, to treat myself.

When I got home, I decided to preplan for the weeks and started mixing up my Costco-sized ground beef and some eggs. Freezing some and then cooking others. As a tip for those on the carnivore diet, don't be focused on working on your computer or taking phone calls to ensure the result is not a nice charred hockey puck.

The other tip is to let the hockey pucks cool. I decided to try one out to see how hard the hockey puck was, and it burned the inside of my mouth.

I've also been watching my Ketone levels as I understand you need to be in ketosis to lose weight. So far, it looks good, but my competitive nature wants me to get to the dark side. I figure, "once you go black, you are in full-fat attack."

We had our regular Friday night dinner and went to the Keg. Going out on Fridays to a decent restaurant is something we started about 6-weeks ago versus our past going out for pub food.

It was the first time I had to order only food allowed on the carnivore diet. The waiter asked, "what I wanted?" Steak and lobster, please. He asked, "for your sides?" I said none. He asked, "if I wanted a starter salad?" I said no. He asked, "for beverage order?" I said, a bottle of sparkling water. He asked, "how do you want your steak?" I said blue rare. Then he asked, "are you on the carnivore diet? And I said bingo.

Today was the first day I started feeling much clearer in my head and with a little more energy. I started the day with an hour indoor bike ride and was energized afterward. It was my first hour-long ride in a long time. Typically I've been doing 40 minutes. I also noticed that I did not need to nap for the previous day and today. Generally, I watch YouTube videos in the evening and pass out on the couch.

Being Saturday, I'm trying to sleep in on the weekends. I ended up having a great sleep. I have an aura ring, and it tracks how well I sleep. I also have been using my apple watch but don't like wearing it in bed. The morning results were excellent, one of the best in a while. I had an excellent sleep rating and readiness rating, and my heart rate averaged 53 bpm and got as low as 47 bpm. A promising sign my exercise is paying off.

Then for the rest of the night, we sat around the bar in the Pig and Whistle and watched Netflix show "Unbelievable" with no chill. Although I'm assuming that Netflix and Chill mean watching it and then doing it on the couch as you watch it? I have yet to read the manual or do any google searching. Hell, I just realized what they meant by Chill only a year ago.
